Our Smart Tag system operates exclusively through the LoRaWAN network, with no direct satellite connectivity. To ensure full coverage and functionality of the Smart Tags across the entire farm area, it will be necessary to size and plan the LoRaWAN antenna infrastructure.
During the technical survey phase, the required coverage area and the farm topography will be assessed to design the ideal number and positioning of the antennas. The feasibility of using existing physical structures (silos, water tanks, warehouses, power towers or other elevated points) will also be analyzed, with the aim of optimizing costs and avoiding the need to build dedicated towers.
If the farm structure does not meet the technical height and sight requirements for LoRaWAN coverage, the installation of additional towers will be considered in the project.
All Spacevis technology requires an internet connection to function properly. However, this need is already fully anticipated and met within the scope of the project. The contract includes the installation of a dedicated connection via Starlink, ensuring high availability and speed even in remote regions. In addition, there is connectivity redundancy, via 4G or 5G signal, ensuring that the system remains online even in the event of temporary failures in the main connection. Spacevis facilities already include active routers and network infrastructure sized to support the operation of the devices and communication with cloud servers, eliminating any additional concerns on the part of the customer regarding the internet on the farm.
